On June 26, seven students graduated from Central Tech’s Surgical Technology program and are now ready to join the workforce.
Jennifer Davis from Sapulpa, Carlie McLean from Stroud, Lindsey Rickner from Yale, Sarah Holt from Kellyville, Angel Reese from Stillwater, Ashley Robertson from Drumright, and Robin Webster from Sapulpa finished the 10-month program that started in August.
These students are now eligible to take the national surgical technologist certification exam. Passing the exam will certify them to work as a surgical technologist anywhere in the United States.
The surgical technology program at Central Tech is designed to prepare students for a career in the medical field. Students learn the fundamentals of being a surgical technologist, maintaining a sterile field and overall training to perform tasks related to surgery in and out of the operating room.
Students can begin their career as surgical technologists, or can use their training for a different career path, such as a medical sales representative.
Central Tech congratulates this group of hard-working students for their accomplishment and wishes them well in their future endeavors.
