BE A CORE MEMBER OF THE MEDICAL OFFICE
Use what you learn through anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, empathy training, CPR, first aid, and customer service to work in a medical office. You will practice administering injections, drawing blood, performing EKG’s, and keeping electronic health records.
BASIC MEDICAL ASSISTANT
In this program you will learn the role of the basic medical assistant. You will learn:
- A Brief History of Medicine
- Characteristics Needed to Be a Medical Assistant
- To Practice Good Ethical Behavior
- Good Communication Skills
- How to Take Patient History
- To Do Basic Patient Assessment
- To Assist in Minor Office Procedures

You will also learn basic skills related to assisting in any type of medical office with direct patient care.

On Monday, Advanced Health Careers, Health Careers, and Medical Assisting from the Drumright campus took students to a @hosafhp day at the Paycom. They were able to listen to a panel and ask questions, shoot a free throw on the @okcthunder Court, talk to College and Job Recruiters. Then had a break to eat and back to Paycom for Thunder Up and Tip Off game against the @bucks. It was a great day for leadership and a great game!

We were excited to host a private tour of Central Tech for Flat Stanley. Visiting from Mannford, he got a behind-the-scenes look at several classes including Medical Assisting and Truck Driver Training. He even got to ride on a Central Tech school bus! 🚌
Flat Stanley loved his visit so much that he’s already planning to attend in the future. We can’t wait to have him and all his friends from Mannford as students!

It was pediatrics day in Medical Assisting on the Drumright campus. Students get hands-on training, using the skills they have learned during their pediatric theory. They take vital signs, observe development stages, plot the info on the growth charts, and interact with all ages. Fun for all ages!

Surg Tech, Cosmetology, and Medical Assisting students volunteered to set up in OKC at Scissortail Park for the Walk To End Alzheimers. They arrived at 4:30am in order to start at 6am. It was a great time and experience for all involved and turn out was impressive.
